I am planning to upgrade the code from 9.4.6 to 10.2.4 HF7 on BIG-IP 3600 type C103. HD1.1 is the active boot partition on 9.4.6.

Thank you Graham for reply to my questions. I want to know few more things on this upgrade

 

Can i know what is the major differece between the partitions and volumes on F5.

 

If i want to go for volumes from 9.4.6 to 10.2.4 do i need to mention the below image2disk command without mentioning the instslot.

 

image2disk --format=volumes /shared/images/BIGIP-10.2.4.577.0.iso

 

Once the box is booted with the new 10.2.4 on HD1.1 will the configuration will be copied from 9.4.6 to 10.2.4

 

Next I need to install the 10.2.4 and HF7 on inactive volume HD1.2 and reboot the device with the HD1.2 with the boot location to load 10.2.4 with HF7.

 

As a rollback plan - If I want to revert back to the 9.4.6 code what are the steps I need to take. ie., downgrade from 10.2.4 (Volumes) to 9.4.6 (Partitions)
