Http monitor - keep open connection

Hello, while debugging some problem we have specific request here, whether it is possible not to close the TCP connection after the monitoring query.

Because http monitor closes the TCP connection after every query. We tried to remove from the monitor the "Connection: Close" or add a "Connection: Keep-Alive". However, from end servers (node) we have information that after the answers on the status page, F5 initiates closure using TCP FIN packet.

It is therefore possible to somehow force F5 to keep the connection and through him sent next GETs? Or its just a natural characteristic of the TCP protocol and F5?

Thanks a lot, Lukas.

  • I suppose the question is probably going to be "Why do you want/need to?"

In creating a new TCP connection (And subsequent layer 7 connection) every time, you're testing the full elements of the OSI stack so you've got a reliable monitor.

You're kind of asking "Can I use OneConnect with a Monitor" I suppose.... ~Interetsing question, I'd like to know the answer myself :)
