HTTP Disabling Impact
Hi everybody,
I need your urgent support if possible, I have one request but I don't know what is it.
in our F5 environment we have one application called (Appian Android mobile Application), our Appian consultants are facing some difficulties in logging into the TEST environment. They suspect that the issue might be due to the interference of HTTP protocol (port 80) during the login attempt. As an initial troubleshooting step, they had disabled the ISS bindings for HTTP over port 80 in all the three web servers. For proceeding further. They request to completely disable HTTP access from the Load balancer end as well.
so I want to know two thing:
1- how to disable HTTP from load balancer.
2- what is the impact for disabling HTTP.
I know may my case not clear because I haven't any experience in F5 field.
thanks for your clear and quick support.

I'm not entirely sure of your request, however, if you have a "http profile" assigned to the virtual server you can remove this. that way the Virtual will not care about the http payload and will treat as a tcp connection.
Caveat is any layer 7 stuff won't work, e.g. HTTP_REQUEST commands in irules, cookies, header manipulations.
Hope this helps,
N
