Dec 10, 2008HP Systems Insight Manager 5.2 - Windows / SNMP
Has anyone ever configured 'HP Systems Insight Manager 5.2 - Windows' to talk to Big-IP's (LTM - 1500 specifically)
I have installed the MIB's, created a corresponding system type (using the following parameters...)
System object identifier: .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.3.4.4
Compare rule: match
MIB variable object identifier: .1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.6.2
Object value:
Data type: string
Compare rule: any value
... and added the appropriate system which then does not produce events...
I then run 'identify systems' which results in the following...
Starting identification process...

It appears HP-SIM thinks there is no SNMP support on the LTM. Although I have checked the community strings match and am using SNMP V2c
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Did you check on the LTM to make sure that your server IP is permitted in the snmp client allow list? - Jose_Santiago_O

Hi, don't know if you are still battling with this but I just solved the same issue, turns out HPSIM will only accept v1 traps so make sure your trap destination is set to v1.
