how VCMP host will communicate to the external Network
Hello All, I would like to understand the data flow from the VCMP guest to the external Network.
-
Does VCMP guest forward the traffic to external network through VMCP host and VCMP host would be having the physical wiring connectivity to the upstream devices?
-
If so don't we need to assign an IP address to VCMP host? Else assigning the IP address to VCMP guest will be enough to communicate with external Network from VCMP guest?

From VCMP host respective it's all Layer 2 communication upstream. You would present the VLAN trunk to the host and then make individual VLANs available to your guests and create appropriate self-IPs on VCMP guests.
You might find find this article useful to better understand VCMP host/guest configuration. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/15000/900/sol15930.html

Alex, Thanks for your reply.would you please help me to know the steps where I have to add the new interfaces of LTM as trunk? or would you please share any document which will help to know steps to follow when we are enabling the new interfaces on LTM and it is connectivity to upstream devices.
