EmployeeIf traffic coming to the F5 is truly HTTP, then cookie insert is by far the most robust and reliable persistence method. As for recording users, that can be accomplished in a few ways. Probably the easiest is a request logging profile applied to the VIP. Here's some information on configuring the request logging profile.
Otherwise, you could do the same thing in an iRule:
when CLIENT_ACCEPTED {
log local0. "New connection from [IP::client_addr]"
}
which would show up in the /var/log/ltm syslog file.
