How to document the configuration?
Hello,
I have a problem to document special configurations on the LTM. I use a wiki, but it's not comfortable to navigate first through the web interface of the LTM and the through the wiki to find the right documentation for this configuration. I tried to use web site annotation tools (for instance Internote) to have a note with a link to the documentation, but it doesn't work because of the LTM web interface. Has anyone a good idea for a comfortable way to document special things for every virtual server? The one line in the configuration of the VS is already used...
Thanks in advance... Stefan

Hi, maybe, it will be helpful for you:
tmos list ltm virtual virtual_server_name

Hi Vitaly,
thanks for the idea. But maybe I have not made myself clear. I need a possibility to add my own comments to the configuration of a VS. The "description" field is too short. Now I use a separate wiki for this purpose, but thats not really user-friendly. So what I need is a possibility to add a link (which points to the right wiki-page) somewhere in the configuration page of a VS or a note which pops up when I open the configuration page of the VS or something else which allows me to add own comments (more than one line) or to add a link to the wiki-page.

You can use metadata to annotate your config. Check this post for an example https://devcentral.f5.com/articles/custom-big-ip-object-metadata-with-data-groups. link text
