How to delete a node without deleting a pool in which it is used

How to delete a node without deleting a pool in which it is used. My customer has a partition A in which node X.X.X.X is being used in Pool A. Now we want to move the node to common partition and then reattach it to the same pool A in partition A. 1. How can this be done ? Should I disable or force offline the pool, than remove node X.X.X.X and configure it in common partition.
