NimbostratusHow to configure a Passive/Active BigIP LTM in one armed mode setup?
I'm done configuring the One Armed Mode Setup and is working fine. Anybody could help me on how to setup the Active/Passive Failover on BigIP LTM device? I attached the drawing on How I Setup my device but I dont know if the concept is correct. Anyone could provide the step by step guide and diagram for active/passive failover?

How are your switches Active/Passive? Have you enabled STP? Can your switches not support distributed trunking?- Brad_Parker
- Make sure you have a self IP on each device for each VLAN
- Specify an IP for config sync
- Specify an IP for connection mirroring
- Establish device trust
- Create Sync-Failover group
- Sync devices
- Specify fail-over IP addresses
- Start adding Floating IP addresses, VIPs, SNATs, etc to your floating traffic group

- f5newuser_18231Actually I am done configuring the F5 with selp IP address 10.10.10.253 and is operational, But I want to use the spare for failover. Is my diagram on F5 cable connection correct?
- f5newuser_18231So I need to create an IP for Config Sync, an IP for Merroring, an IP for Failover and Floating IP? Can you provide me a simple diagram with Ip addresses to follow? Thanks

- f5newuser_18231Yes STP is enabled, The ports where the F5 connected to the switches are in trunk mode.
- f5newuser_18231Is the port where the f5 connected each other is correct?
