How to automatically register/update VPN-IP in DNS
We found out once connected via APM network access, the clients VPN-IP isn't automatically registered/updated in DNS. We also tried a "ipconfig /registerdns" and noticed that the request will be send via the local network adapter instead of the ppp-adapter. Then we enabled the option "Register this connection's address in DNS" of the TCP/IP settings of the ppp-adapter, but this will not be saved permanently after reconnection.
Is this something the APM can handle or should normally handle? If yes how and where needs this be configured?
We are using 11.5.4 HF2 and Route Domains.
Thank you!
Ciao Stefan :)

Hello,
I have the same issue and the same behaviour. However I need exactly the same need, I have an Infoblox. And for one program, I need to check IP address and hostname. Currently, I have found no solution. Do you have open a issue on F5 support?
Thanks Thanks

Have you tried the option 'Register this connection's addresses in DNS' under DNS/Hosts?

Yes, I have checked these options : - Register this connection's addresses in DNS - Use this connection's DNS suffix in DNS registration
I have made a PCAP in order to verify if a DNS packet with opcode UPDATE is sent by the F5. I dont seen this packet after several tests....
I'm in version 11.6.1.
Do you have the same behaviour ?
Thanks
