What is the best and safest way to move all configurations from a 1600 to a 2000 model? What is a safe way to replace the 1600 with a 2000 on a production network with minimal or no down time?   I...

  1. Make sure both devices are running the same code version. You are better off being in 11.x or 12.x

     

  2. Make sure the devices have the same base-configuration - self IP, VLAN, Routes etc.

     

  3. Copying configuration over from the same code version on 1600 to the same code version on 2000 should be easy and you shouldn't see any errors. If you do see them, post it here for further help.
