how do I log into a virtual server
I'm wanting to do this: Testing AAA high availability for supported authentication servers. In one step it says to log into the virtual server. How do I log into a virtual server?

Can I assume you're referring to Access Policy Manager (APM) in this case? If so, logon is generally provided through some APM AAA function like a logon form.

Once you've created the access policy, you'll want to edit it. If you click the "Edit" button to the right of the policy in the policy list, it'll bring up a new tab/page with the "Visual Policy Editor" (VPE). From there you'll add agents in the AAA flow, like a logon page.
APM, for all of it's power and flexibility, can also not the most intuitive thing in the world to configure. I would highly recommend perusing through the various APM documentation available.

Start with the "Configuration Guide for BIG-IP Access Policy Manager" as that'll cover most of the product at a higher level, while the other documents will get into the weeds.
