Host-based rewrite of JDBC/ODBC connection string for RO access to SLQ 2014 availability group
Hi,
We're considering a SQL server redesign that will require some changes to connection strings in certain read-only use cases in our application. Previously in those use cases the application would simply connect to a read-only restore of a database; they would hit the read-only copy with a CNAME pointing to the read-only DB restore server. We want to enable them to keep this functionality, but connect to the same SQL 2014 listener on the back end that they would for read-write functionality, but with an additional connection parameter specifying read-write access.
Is there a good way to do this? I am not sure what class to apply to rewrite connection strings.
