High CPU load during backup
Hi,
I have BIG-IP-LTM 2000 with 11.5.1 version. When I do a system backup ("save sys ucs" command or through graphical User Interface), I get high CPU load for 40 minutes:
I'd like to know if this is a normal behavior.
Regards David P.

What process does "top" show with the highest CPU utilization when creating the UCS?
If it's the csyncd process, it could be ID 424931 (search for the ID on https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/releasenotes/product/relnote-ltm-11-4-1.html), which is fixed in 11.6.0.
ID 424931 - Upon the creation of a large file, such as a UCS archive, csyncd can raise the CPU utilization of a system for an extended period of time. Create a large file in a directory monitored by csyncd (see /etc/csyncd.conf). Increased CPU utilization can lead to system instability. Workaround: None.

If the high CPU is negatively impacting traffic, you can download the UCS off-box and delete it from the F5 (or move it from /var/local/ucs to /shared/tmp)
