Help with updating firmware 11.4 to 11.6 LTM

Just looking for a comprehensive doc that details the scope and best practices for updating from 11.4 to 11.6 LTM. I have found a few out there but I am not feeling to confident in my findings. Id ...

in principle it is quite simple

 

  • do license renew
  • upload version 11.6.0 and latest hotfix
  • install hotfix (it will take base image with it) in free slot
  • reboot in new slot

if it fails, make qkview and reboot in old boot slow. google for your errors or create ticket at F5.

 

that should be it in many cases. of course there might be issues so read release notes. for a cluster you have to think about units becoming active and such.
