Health Monitor

Hello All,

I have same static page configured on all the servers and tagged under multiple pools .

for example below is sending and receiving strings..

GET /pub/xchange/status HTTP/1.1\r\nUser-Agent:Mozilla/4.0\r\nHost:10.74.x.x:80\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n

receiving string is Thank you for submitting your system data

for every server do I need to change the IP ? or is there any way we can configure common sending string and tag the same health monitor for different servers ?

  • Hi, The same one health monitor can be used for all the pool members. Just set the service port and address settings in the monitor to their default (*). This means that the monitor will check the member on whatever adress and port configured at the member level. You just have to assign the monitor to the pool and leave the member monitor by default as inherit from pool. I hope this is clear for you. Good luck

The only problem I can see is if the web servers care about the host header. If they aren't relying on the host headers to map to a particular web root, that should be fine.
