Health monitor for BIG-IP 11.1.0 Build 2027.0 Hotfix HF2 not working
Hello All, The below health monitor keeps failing. Any thoughts on why this is happening?
ex) 1 Virtual Server, pool of 3 members.
A server B server C server
Below health monitor C server. It contains a absolute URL and if fails C server should be flagged down. GET /web/community HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: www12-qa.qad.com\r\nConnection: Close\r\n
I appreciate any input.

The webserver (IIS) is alrady configured to accept any alias used, but I don't thnk that matters because we are NOT trying to request content from that web server, we are trying to hit another independent website and look for a string, and if it's string is not there, then the webserver will just be flagged as down.
ex) - 1 Virtual Server (X) - 1 Pool - 3 Members in pool (A, B, C) - Health monitor applied to "C" member
Syntax: GET /web/community HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: community-qa-ibm.qad.com\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n
Looks for String "QAD"
NOTE: It shouldn't matter, but "community-qa-ibm.qad.com" is an alias that points to another VS on the f5.
- 1 IRules that manages the traffic. Logic: If pool member "C" is flagged UP (look at health monitor config above), then route traffic to pool member A If pool member "C" is flagged DOWN (look at health monitor config above), then route traffic to member B
So the question is,
1) Can member "C" use a health monitor to monitor a seperate "alias"/"server", and if it doesn't return a needed string, can "C" member flagged itself down? If yes, then the health monitor syntax may be incorrect?
Thoughts anyone?
