Please forgive me if I interpreted your question incorrectly though the solution article below should provide all of the details regarding the development of application health monitors.
https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/2000/100/sol2167.html
Example: GET /index.html HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: host.domain.com\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n

GET /healthcheck.html HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: smp.interglobe.com\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n I used above monitor, but its making pool member down. however if I am using gateway ICMP monitor ,pool members are coming up.. - Steve_LyonsJan 02, 2016Ret. EmployeeIf this is a production application, please do not use the ICMP monitor as it will only tell you if the server itself is responding to ICMP but nothing about the application itself. Try this and if it does not work, I recommend using a tool such as fiddler to view HTTP requests and responses. Then to take it a step further, I would add an expected receive string such as HTTP/1.1 200 OK or something in the web server response. I am running a web server pool using this health monitor so I am hoping it works for your environment as well. Let me know either way. GET / HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: smp.interglobe.com\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n

i added receive string also as HTTP/1.1 200 OK and used above monitor as recommended by you,but still its marking pool down. Now I will use fiddler and lets c the response. - Steve_LyonsJan 02, 2016Ret. EmployeeSounds good. I wouldn't add the 200 string until you validate the send string is valid and able to mark the pool members up or down. Let us know how it goes using fiddler.
