Hardware migration from LTM 1600 to i2600
Hi everyone! My question concerns hardware migration from 1600 to i2600 cluster. Current 1600 DSC is splitted between 2 DCs. Hardware replacement is going to be performed sequently, not at once, replacing appliance 1600 at DC1 and then, in sometime, at DC2. There is a possibility to have equal SW versions on 1600 and i2600 of 12.1.2 (the last SW version supported by 1600), but, according to this guide: https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K14906 "In versions prior to 13.1.0 and 12.1.3, although you can bypass the platform check, F5 does not currently have a supported method for... performing a ConfigSync between different hardware platform types or between hardware and a virtual edition". Does this mean 1600 and i2600 are unable to synchronise configuration and form a DSC or this is just a limitation for UCS configuration migration? Thank you!
Yes, it’s possible to sync configuration and form a DSC between a 1600 and 2600i platform if running 11.4.0 or higher.
Starting in BIG-IP 11.4.0, the BIG-IP system supports high availability (HA) features, such as ConfigSync and failover between different hardware platforms.
