HA-Groups - Best Practices

Hellos Devs!

I read this paper https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K14515 that F5 recommends that you do not use manual failover when the environment is using HA-groups.

I labbed this and saw no issues and so I'm wondering: What's the problem here?

My understanding is that if a unit is currently active, since the "active bonus" is in place, HA should not move (if nothing fails). If I ran "run sys failover standby" on the active unit, it will pass active state and the new active will now have the "active unit" bonus, and so the environment should be stable. The only caveat I can see is if after you manually failed over, HA-group detected something and failed over again to the other unit again.

In which scenario could we have an issue where this recommendation is more obvious?

Cheers! Rafael
