GTM virtual edition 11.3.0 Monitors not working
I'm having a problem with http monitors, and others, working on GTM 11.3.0 virtual edition for generic hosts. I'm using workstation 9 and a strongbox license in preparation for an engagement coming up next week. If I define a server object as a BIG-IP System, I do see the bigip monitor packets leave the GTM. However, I see no monitor packets leaving the GTM for generic host server objects and the GTM does not show up as a device for a prober pool. Once I changed the strongbox license to include LTM, the monitors started working and the LTM shows up as a device for the prober pool. The problem is this client only has GTMs, no LTMs. So I'm wondering if this is a feature/bug in 11.3.0, not supported on the virtual edition or because I'm using workstation 9. The client has 3 3900 series systems, so as long as the GTM can be the monitor proper for generic hosts on version 11.3.0, I'm good. However, if this is an issue on the hardware systems as well, I'm looking for a recommendation on the version of code that does support the GTM being the proper for generic hosts. I’m currently running build number 2806.0 of the virtual edition.
Thank You
Ken

I fixed it by creating a server object to represent the local GTM system. - Laudec_55181

Yip, GTM 101 says always create the local GTM as a server object. I like to think of it, that the GTM becomes self aware then :)
