GTM to resolve based on source IP address
Hello Everyone,
I believe this is a very basic request for some of you, however am pretty new to F5 iRules and seeking your help here.
We have two sets up applications, App_2010, and App_2016 with separate Virtual Servers. App_2010 is currently in Production and App_2016 in Test. The GTM resolves to App_2010 VS, however, we would want to GTM to resolve to App_2016 based on the source IP address. We would want it to resolve it to App_2016 for the test users.
How can I make my GTM resolve the DNS query resolve with IP addresses from New_Pool based on the source IP address? Any sample iRule please.

I would check this DC post as it may give you clues on how you might achieve the result you're after: gtm-source-ip-redirect-to-specific-pools-irule
See if that helps,

Hi Mahi,
Be careful when you are looking for a solotion o such type of conditions. GTM should receive queries directly from the users to identify their source address.
Generally if you are working for a company or administrating a group of users then who would be definetily having a DNS server which will look for the nslookup response (not end user) Hence the only way that this can be done is now with 2 separate DNS servers.
Thanks!

Hello,
You can use the GTM topology feature to answer specific clients based on their source IP with the new site. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_gtm/manuals/product/gtm-lb-configuring-11-5-0/1.html
