I dont see any issue in upgrading the GTM from 11.2 to 12.1.2 Unlike LTM upgrade, GTM Upgrades are not usually complicated and this should also be straight forward if you are not having GTM as your master DNS server Make sure you take a backup prior to upgrade and save it in remote machine.
