GTM pool names all listed with the same name

Somehow, when I go into Global Traffic > Pools, all the pools have the same name listed. If I go though Wide IPs, click on one, and then pools the correct name shows up. It's really wierd, and makes it hard to manage because I don't know which pool is which.

When I go into the bigip_gtm.conf file, the pools look correct in there. Any ideas what could cause this and how to fix it?

  • This sounds familiar. Mine did the same thing except with the servers. I think its due to the mcpd db getting corrupted. This is what fixed it for me. what version are you running?

1.) Backup UCS archive on all GTMs.

2.) Remove GTMs from synchronization group:

System > Configuration > Global Traffic > General

    - Uncheck Synchronization and Synchronization DNS Zone Files

    - Click on Update button.

3.) Force reload mcpd per SOL:

SOL13030: Forcing the mcpd process to reload configuration

    http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/000/sol13030.html

    touch /service/mcpd/forceload

    reboot

4.) Repeat step 3 on all GTMs.

5.) Once GTMs are back up, ensure that server object names are no longer the same name.

6.) Re-add all GTMs into synchronization group:

System > Configuration > Global Traffic > General

    - Check Synchronization and Synchronization DNS Zone Files

    - Click on Update button.

7.) Perform installation of v11.2 iso and engineering HF iso into target boot location.

8.) Boot into new boot location.
