GTM Health Check Question

I have a question regarding health checks on the GTM. I am currently just doing http health checks only on the wide ip pools and I am wondering if I should be doing health checks on the server level ...

The LTM will generally be polling/monitoring the VS's and report this back to the GTM via the iQuery protocol. So yes, in most cases it would be an overkill to let the GTM do this in addition to what the LTM is. It all depends on how deep one wants to go with monitoring and to some extent provide redundancy in doing so.
