GTM: Delegation of top level domain
We currently delegate individual hostnames to GTM, a la:
www.example.com IN NS gtm1 www.example.com IN NS gtm2
Then, we create a WIP on the GTM for www.example.com. This works fine. But now, we have a requirement to introduce GSLB for 'example.com' What are my options here? Do I have to delegate the entire 'example.com' domain to the GTM? Does the GTM need to be authoritative for this entire domain?
How are others handling this scenario?

Delegation is just creating a pointer that sends a DNS client to the right DNS server. Obviously the GTM can't respond to a DNS request if it never receives the request.
In your case, you could move the zone to the GTM, or you could set up a CNAME in the original zone that redirects requests for example.com to something like gslb.example.com. That might be easier to do in your environment.
