GTM config sync question

Hi,

 

I'm new to GTM, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question. We currently have GTM running on BIGIP 10.2 boxes, and are expanding into a new datacenter where we would like to add more GTM systems to the config sync group. I'm seeing some conflicting information on the version of BIGIP I'll need to deploy on the new GTM boxes.

 

SOL13734 indicates that I must be running the same version as the other systems.

 

But the Implementation Guide seems to describe 11.5 systems working with older versions.

 

So, can I add GTM on BIGIP 11.5 to my existing GTM config sync group who are running BIGIP 10.2, or do I need to deploy 10.2 in my new datacenter?

    For anyone interested, I opened a support case concerning this and was told:

     

    For sync to work, the GTMs must be the same version. Version 10 and version 11 code are completely different, and they cannot sync back and forth.

     

    The GTMs can work with other versions, example if you have the version 11 GTMs in one sync group and the version 10 GTMs in another sync group, they can still share traffic. But they cannot be in the same sync group.
