GTM and Single Virtual hosting Multiple Pools

If you are using GTM to distribute DNS and you have a virtual using iRules to distribute HTTP/S connections to multiple service specific pools (similar to Exchange), is there a way to have the GTM monitor the health of the individual pools. So, based on GTM Global availability all traffic for Exchange goes to DC1 but OWA, which has failed at DC1, so it hits DC2 based on the GTM.

(Exchange is just an example)

  • If you setup your pools by service (HTTP servers in one pool, HTTPS servers in another), then you just assign the appropriate monitors to those pools to ensure their health is properly checked. There are built-in monitors (http, https) that you can use, or can you customize your own to best fit your needs.

  • I'm in a similar position, I cannot have lots of LTM virtual servers as we only have limited RIPE addresses. Are there no other solutions? Thanks
