GTM 10.x/11.x to 12.x Wide IP Changes
Hi,
I am currently performing an upgrade of some super old GTM equipment (running 10.2) to new 2k series appliances running 12.0.
I first migrated the old configuration to a 11.5 partition on my new appliances and then migrated that configuration onto a 12.0 partition and it seems mostly successful so far.
The only issue is, with the 12.0 support for the new records (A, AAAA and CNAME), it seems it has migrated the 11.5 wide IP's as type A and created a duplicate type AAAA record with no pool assigned (since you cant assign the same pool to more than one Wide IP apparently).
My question is, which type do I use to keep parity with the old deployment? Can i just delete the AAAA records it created?
Apologies if this is a numpty question. My GTM/DNS knowledge is a bit weak.
Thanks

Yeah, just delete the AAAA pool, as it isn't used. The upgrader automatically creates both types, as version 11 stores both ipv4 and ipv6 address in a single gtm pool. If you had any virtual servers in v11 with ipv6 addresses, then your AAAA pool would have been populated with those after the upgrade.

It appears that the upgrade to 12.1.3 has also added CNAME records along with the AAAA records. Both Wide IPs show no pools associated with either of them. Should I just delete the CNAME records also?
