NimbostratusGTM - bigip health monitor
I am trying to create a new WideIP entry on my GTM and noticed that I don't have the default "bigip" monitor available to assign to my pool. I am using it on other Pools that I already have setup, but for whatever reason I don't see it listed as available under the pool setup (just using "Common" partition). I have double checked and it is listed on my overall monitors list. Just wondering anyone has seen this before. Here is a screenshot of what I am looking at. Thank you for any light you can shine on this issue.

I can see it in some versions (12.1.2) while not in others (11.6.2 / 13.0.0), so this must be a fairly recent change. I would assume the reason for the change has to do with our long standing recommendation of not applying monitors to pools, especially the bigip monitor. You should apply only content specific monitors and only on rare occasion. At the server and virtual server level, BIG-IP DNS is able to gather all of the necessary availability information for the service.Here's some reference material on the topic:
