Google Appe Engine and VMWare partnership

I thought this was interesting. http://googlecode.blogspot.com/2010/05/enabling-cloud-portability-with-google.html This is the first time I've heard a "cloud" vendor talk about being able to move your apps to different virtualized platforms. Usually the cloud provider is either just a virtual server in the sky or your app has to be tightly coupled to their API's and the vendor doesn't provide any way for you to run them on your own infrastructure.
