Global Traffic Manager -> Can I using GTM to assign data center to clients?

Hello,

I am not a F5 administrator. I am a SOA architect. My customer has active active data centers. These data centers actively service client requests. They have DNS to route traffic between the data centers. My recommendation is not to use DNS for this work. In reading about Global Traffic Manager, I think GTM is a great fit for that work. Can I use GTM to assign clients to certain data center during the duration of active session from the client? I don't want client to bounce back and forth between the data centers.

Thank you for your help

Mustafa

  • Yes, GTM could be a good option as it also checks the status of the ISP. Please refer below for more details:

As far as "assigning clients to particular data center", I think chapter 7 "Load Balancing with the Global Traffic Manager" is what I need. Do you agree?

    Thank you,
