hi,I have one pair F5 LTM which run in active/standby way.
there is a gateway monitor for in the pair.One day the gateway is gone,I found both of them are standby ....

when using the legacy "Gateway Failsafe" configuration you risk standby/standby as you already figured out unfortunately.
The "HA Group" feature will be able to meet your requirements.
The HA group components will be calculated to a score per unit based on their availability which is compared between units in the device cluster. Due to the "active bonus" concept you will not observe a failover or standby/standby even if all HA group components will become unavailable and the score goes zero.
In case all units in the sync-failover device group score of zero or have the same score, the one with the highest management IP will go active.
In an HA group you can both use trunks and pools. Yes, it will be necessary to build trunks (even they have a single interface only) to use them in HA groups.
