ftp irule syntax

I'm not having any luck finding any posts or tech.f5.com documentation on ftp irule syntax. I'm wanting to create an irule like an http irule redirect when users go to one dns domain but get redirected to another for ftp requests.

 

 

Can someone help me out?

    As far as I know you are out of luck. HTTP has redirects based in it's specification, FTP doesn't. Basically FTP works like SMTP in that it is a command driven connection.

     

     

    The only way I could see you using FTP on a wide area scale would be with our Global Traffic module. You could create a domain name that you are ftp'ing go, and then make your DNS decisions as to who to route the connection to.

     

     

    If anyone else has other ideas, I'd be interested in hearing them.
