Jun 24, 2009Firmware Update question
Hi everyone,
sorry if this is not in the correct forum. If it's not please let me know which one it should be posted in.
Just a quick question. We have a Firepass 1200 that is running firmware 6.02. We now wish to upgrade to 6.03, mainly for the better MAC support. Are there any known traps/issues in going from 6.02 to 6.03? I am hoping it will be a painless update but thought it would be prudent to ask here in case someone else has done this and ran into problems.
Regards
Craig

FWIW, I had no issues upgrading from 6.0.2 to 6.0.3.
On the other hand, I had major headaches after installing Hotfix 2.1-1 for 6.0.3 after we had begun widely deploying the stand-alone F5 Networks VPN Client. That problem was due to our restrictive pre-logon inspection which requires a URI landing and the fact that the stand-alone client connects to the Firepass without any landing after updating itself. It also added a controller to the client's controller list, even though the Firepass configuration is set to have the client controller list match what is set in the Firepass. I've got a CR on this and apparently it will be resolved at some future time.
If you use the stand-alone client I highly recommend testing first if at all possible. - CraigM_17826

Hi Michael,
thanks for the feedback. Our pre-logon inspection is fairly simple and we only allow VPN access to a select few people. The Firepass is mainly used for remote desktop sessions to selected servers. Hopefully we won't encounter any issues.
Regards,
Craig
