Firepass Windows Mobile client crashes HTC Touch Pro 2

I have a Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2. No matter what ROM I try, no matter what I do, from a clean install I run the CAB file for F5 Firepass VPN full net access. Following installation, it says it needs to reboot. This causes the device to go into an endless reboot cycle. There is nothing I can seem to do to prevent it.. and since I can't get into the OS at all except to hard reset, all information about what the problem might be is erased!

F5 Support has been little help, and I have no idea how old this client is but it's quite annoying that I cannot VPN into work.

Anyone have any ideas? Solutions? Other versions of this client? It's driving me nuts! Firepass controller is on 6.1.0 but the mobile client has been the same since we got the unit and 6.0.2 was current.

  • So my end goal is to get push (or close to it) email and calandar on my tp2. Sounds like you're saying this isn't really possible...

Thanks for all of your trouble, I really appreciate it.
  • THAT's why you want VPN? You should be able to get all of that without it. I use ActiveSync against exchange but there are services from Sprint that will provide push email/calendar as well as a slew of apps.

The only reason for this VPN is if you have to access Intranet type webpages at work, or like me I need SSH and RDP/VNC capability for remote admin.
  • The problem is with activesync I keep getting this error message: The server you are attempting to synchronize with is either not an Exchange Server or is running incompatible software. Please correct your server address in Exchange.

So far it has bested me...
