F5 VE Bandwidth limit
hello,
i have installed new F5 VE in our environment with license limit up to 200Mb.
since then, i'm receiving messages in ltm log:
Bandwidth utilization is 200 Mbps, exceeded 75% of Licensed 200 Mbps
according to performance graphs, out traffic is no more than 40Mb.
F5 is configured as Default Gateway for my 5 internal networks and i suspect that internal traffic between segments is also counted in the licence limit, also it doesn't uses F5 features like load balancing and etc. just routing purposes.
also i would like to know what happens to the traffic when the limit is exceeded? is it droped? queued?
please assist,
thanks in advance
Maksim

Whats your monitoring averaged over? I suspect that bigip probably divides the allowable bandwidth by 100 and checks the amount transferred every 10ms (same way it does the ssl license limits).
So if you are averaging the bandwidth in your monitoring gover 60 seconds, that doesn't really represent what's being counted by bigip for the license checks.
I believe the average for the built in performance graphs is about 5 minutes...
