F5 SSL TPS definition
Hi,
I was just reading this article WILS: SSL TPS versus HTTP TPS over SSL and I wonder which definition is used for metrics in F5 performance sheets for hardware. There are such definitions I am aware of:
- Max. SSL Transactions (1K Keys, RC4-MD5)
- Max. SSL Transactions (2K Keys)
- Max. SSL Concurrent Connections
- Max. SSL Bulk Encryption
Is Max. SSL Transactions equal do definition from article SSL TPS or HTTP TPS over SSL?
If the first what is most precise definition, is that defined as:
SSL Handshake HTTP request - HTTP response SSL Session closure
Or there could be many HTTP request-response pairs (I guess it's defined as single HTTP transaction) inside SSL session. So what really defined as transaction here is SSL Handshake-Closure and the metric means how many such transactions (no mater how many HTTP transactions are in the SSL session) can be performed per second?

i think ssl transaction is tested by using single http request because it is intended to measures key exchange and handshake.
