F5 LTM 8900 queries - newbie

Hi,   Our smtp relay servers are using F5 LTM 8900 LB.   Could anyone advise how the smtp health check of the F5 works?   Thanks in advance.

How to access the existing iRule?

 

Note that the F5 smtp health check was working fine for the smtp relay servers. After applying the regular patch for the smtp relay server, the health check of the F5 failed though the smtp replay server is working fine by using "telnet 25" from other server.

Can you check if you find anything abnormal in the logs of your smtp pools in "/var/log/monitors/". also, this article may help you troubleshoot : https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/12000/500/sol12531.html
