F5 LTM 3900 WEB GUI --Extremely Slow.....SOS~~
- Sep 10, 2014
Well, that works because the webUI is a java app being served off tomcat.
Very likely tomcat ran out of memory. If it keeps happening, there are ways to increase the memory allocated to tomcat: http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/9000/700/sol9719.html?sr=40200785
Are you using enterprise manager or some other HTTP/iControl based management tool?
Assuming that you're not doing something sub-optimal (like using a management tool which creates a lot of keep-alive connections and leaves them idle), and there are no memory leaks that eventually slow the device down (latest hotfix will help), then you can raise the maximum allowed connections to management GUI like so:
tmsh modify sys httpd max-clients 20
The default is 10, and 20 is generally safe, and should be sufficient. Going higher than that will require evaluating your use case and available device resources, especially RAM.
