i think the main point is there is difference between AD and LDAP, they are similar but not the same. if you follow the LDAP guide and are able to configure the application to use that virtual IP you are fine.

 

but if you want to use a virtual server to be where you workstations connect during the logon process then that will probably be a less good idea.
