F5 GTM question

Hi All,

 

I am creating wideIP in GTM first time. Could anyone of you validate the below steps and correct me in case of any additional steps required.

 

Suppose www.wip.example.com is the WIP which I am creating on GTM.

 

1) Add WIP with name www.wip.example.com.

 

2) select LTM VIP's as Pool members(1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2).

 

3) select load balancing method & fall back as drop.

 

4) Add CNAME on dns server pointing to GTM wip as given below.

 

www.example.com IN CNAME www.wip.example.com

 

5) Go to GTM Zone runner-->Resource records and add the following A records pointing to LTM VIP's.

 

www.wip.example.com IN A 1.1.1.1

 

www.wip.example.com IN A 2.2.2.2

    Under GSLB Servers you should have your LTM's configured, in each Server you need to have the VIPs configured as Virtual Servers. Create a pool containing the Virtual Servers and assign under the WideIP.

     

    You do not need to add any A records under Zone Runner for each WideIP as will be created automatically.

    Hi AMG,

     

    Thanks for the update.

     

    Currently our GTM is running on 11.4.1 version, We can see that LTM's are configured under

     

    Global Traffic > Servers > Server List. These are the GSLB servers.?

     

    Sorry I am new to GTM.
