F5 Default Gateway Configuration Issues
I am new to F5 installation so apologize if these questions were asked earlier. I did read up few articles but am still stuck.
I am trying to configure F5 as a default gateway for some VMs but cant seem to get it to work.
F5 is on management subnet of 1.1.192.*
1.1.48.* is a VLAN on external interface with 1.1.48.1 being the route to corporate network and 1.1.48.4 being the external Self IP to which corporate network sends traffic meant for 1.1.194.* VLAN (see next line).
1.1.194.16 (VM-A) is a VM and it using 1.1.194.3 as a gateway and this 1.1.194.3 is configured as a Self IP on the Internal interface of the F5.
I am unable to ping the 1.1.194.3 from VM-A virtual server nor am I able to ssh to VM-A.
When I do tcpdump I see this error:
957801 ARP, Request who-has 1.1.194.3 tell 1.1.1.16, length 53 in slot1/tmm0 lis=
I set up the Forward Virtual IP as some articles have suggested as well. I have tried setting Source Address Translation to Auto Map and None and both did not work.
Any thoughts on what else I need to configure?
I think we figured this out. We had tagged the interfaces and instead of giving the real VLAN IDs associated, we had used F5's auto generated tags. Traffic was failing for this reason.
