F5 BIGIP VMWARE under ubuntu cant ping the VMNET interface

I want to learn more about F5 since I'm new in the load balance world. I downloaded the VMWARE 11.3.0 and I installed on VMWARE workstation 10. I'm able to boot and install the licence. The problem that I have is that I'm not able to ping the vmware network from the BIGIP. I create a TAP0 with an IP of 10.100.0.1 and I have a selfip of 10.100.0.2. I'm able to ping the 10.100.0.2, but not the 10.100.0.1. I'm new about BIGIP, so I might be missing something. Any help, will be appreciated. Thanks
