Does the F5 APM support Oracle's OAP protocol?
Does the F5 Access Policy Manager (APM) when integrated with Oracle's Access Manager (OAM) support the Oracle Access Protocol (OAP). If it does not is it possible to have the APM communicate with the OAM (AAA Server) via HTTPS or would we need to setup a virtual server as per; http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/11000/700/sol11761.
Cheers & Thanks Antony Lovric
Yes, the APM Webgate Agent is built from the Oracle Access Manager agent SDK.
So it communicates between APM's webgate agent and the OAM server using OAP, which is Oracle's proprietary Oracle Access Protocol.
If you follow the BIG-IP Version 11 deployment guide for the APM-OAM integration, you configure OAM as APM's AAA server. It is very important that you follow this deployment guide to the letter for a successful deployment.
And, you need the APM Full license to use this feature ( the APM Limited license will not work with OAM ).
Good Luck !

Thanks Chris. I managed to read the deployment guide, then I downloaded the OAM SDK and looked at the code, found the 'Basic|Simple|Cert' modes then found the APM config documentation that allows you to Configure the 'OAM Server Transport Security Mode', that offered 'Cert' and 'Simple'. (I'm guessing Basic is the mode then Cert|Simple is NOT specified.)
Cheers Antony
