display secured content message comes and thereafter, file download is not hapenning

We have F5 load balancer running in https. Weblogic application server running http. FCS configured in http.

When user is trying to download any file in application accessed through F5 url, in IE 9 browser, a message comes 'Only secured content is displayed.' with a button 'Show all content'. But, clicking this button doesn't download the file.

If we make FCS to run on https protocol, will it solve this problem? In that case do we need to change the weblogic also to be in https or not required as F5 based url (https url) only will be used by end users.

  • There must be a link hardcoded to http:// in your page response - if you can get that removed and changed to a relative link by whichever component is responsible for it, then that would be best, however this may not be possible so your other options would be to use a STREAM profile doco here https://devcentral.f5.com/questions/can-f5-ltm-replace-http-with-https, or else enable SSL to the server hosting the element responsible for inserting the http:// - advertising/analytics often responsible for this type of thing.
