Mar 30, 2010Disabling pool member
I have a node that is a member of two different VRs. Same IP and port. I need to disable one VRs pool members without affecting the other VRs pool members (which are the same end nodes). Will disabling the pool members in one VR affect the nodes in another VR? might be dumb question but please help. Thanks

Nope, even if ip:port is the same, they are separate objects in different pools, so disabling in one pool doesn't impact usage/availability in the other. - Chris_Olson

I need to roll out patches each month to various pools. We take 1/2 the members out of a pool to patch them on Friday's, then put them back in and take out the other 1/2 on Saturday for patching. We have almost 10 pools to work with.
The trouble is, I have a long list of IP addresses that include all pools and I have to sort through each pool to find the IP address that matches so I can pull it out of the pool. Is there a way to do this by IP address via the command line? I tried using the "b node 1.1.1.1 session disable" command but I'm not sure what is happening behind the scenes. The GUI shows a greyed out status button rather than black or any other color. If I disable a node, does that disconnect any existing sessions? I'd like to create a script with all the IP addresses and have the F5 disbable the pool member (only persistant or active sessions allowed) no matter what pool they are in. Is this possible? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
Chris
