Disabling Hostname Verification with XTrustProvider.java

I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck disabling hostname verification with the bundled XTrustProvider included in the iControl Java Assembly.

The XTrustProvider seems to work fine with self-signed certificates but doesn't work if the common name on the device certificate does not match the hostname in the request.

I know I should modify the Device certificates, which I think I'm going to have to do, but was just curious if anyone in the community had had any success disabling hostname verification in the XTrustProvider. If so, could you give me some pointers on how to set it up?
