Direct connect 2 rSeries

Hi,

We're going to buy 2 rSeries 2000 (or 4000) and put in 2 buildings in our sites, with distance over 500m.

Can we use single mode FC cables to connect the 2 units for the HA network?

As there is no switch in between, can we use 2 FC cables to form LACP LAG or bonding for redundancy?  If both LACP and bonding are not supported, will there be any other option available ?

If the configuration is support, do we need to buy special SPF+ for single mode FC cables?

Thanks and Regards

  • Hey Hi, yes, you can use single-mode FC cables for HA network between the rSeries units. You can also use 2 FC cables for redundancy. Special SPF+ for single-mode FC cable.

  • Hello, yes adding a management IP address as failover in case the HA network in a DSC is down is possible.

    Thank you.

      Hi, thanks for your help.

We can form LACP LAG using the 2 FC cables, right?

Besides link level redundancy, seems can add management IP address as failover IP in case the HA network in a DSC is down?

      Sorry for the newbie questions.

      Thanks and Rgds
