CirrusTo answer my own question, a workaround would be to specify priority in each individual iRule, so that the order they are attached to the VS doesn't matter anymore.
Of course, using priority you always have the same priority given a set of iRules, and you can't deviate from this for a specific VS. But these cases are much rarer I think.
